From the early 1800s through the 1970s, Berkshire county was home to hundreds of various bands, including many traditional American Fife & Drum Corps. We've resurrected and combined ALL of them to make one group: The Berkshire Fife & Drum Corps. Anyone and everyone is invited to come learn the Fife, Snare Drum and/or Bass Drum and perform with us all over New England!

We have two professional musicians and educators ready to show you the way, and we promise a good time had by all.

No prior musical experience is necessary. You do not need to bring anything. There are no age restrictions. You can invite friends or family. Now is the perfect time to finally learn an instrument, be in a local band, and be part of the rich history of music in The Berkshires!

WHAT IS A FIFE & DRUM CORPS?

Music and marching with traditional roots and a modern vibe

Comprised of American Fifes, rope-tension Snare Drums, and rope-tension Bass Drums, there are hundreds of Fife & Drum Corps throughout New England and the USA.

The BFD preserves these rich traditions while progressing the culture with new music and a fun, community-driven approach. We participate in musters (gatherings of Fife & Drum Corps) and civic events all over New England.
