DOMINICK CUCCIA 

 

Dominick Cuccia, known globally as "The Fife & Drum Guy," is a pioneering figure in non-traditional Rudimental drumming. Know for his teaching expertise, compositional prowess, drumming prowess, and engaging clinics, Dominick's true brilliance lies in his kindness, sincerity, and genuine passion for the art of drumming. A trailblazer in the fife & drum community, Dominick has opened doors and created opportunities for the next generation of traditional American rudimental drummers. His influence has led many others to spread the music of fife & drum worldwide.

Dom is a veteran of the renowned Hellcats at West Point, where he followed in John S. Pratt's footsteps as a composer and arranger. He has shared the stage with a diverse group of musicians including Carmine Appice, Nick Attanasio, Steve Fidyk, Richie Garcia, Jamey Haddad, Hip Pickles, Aldo Mazza, NEXUS, The Old Guard, Steve Primatic, Bob Quaranta, Marcus Santos, and The Cross Fade Percussion Duo. He led the fife and drum corps at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, the Great American Fife & Drum Band, played and taught the Young Colonials since 1976, currently leads the Rough Riders, and plays drumset for his family folk rock band, Midnight Anthem.

He is the author of The Beat of a Different Drummer, The Bass Drummer, co-authored The Favorite Solos of Campbell, Cuccia & Pratt, appears on two DVDs published by the Percussive Arts Society, and recorded patriotic music for ESPN.

He has a Music Ed. degree from Wilkes University and a Masters in Music Performance from Northeastern State University. Dom is endorsed by Yamaha Drums, Innovative Percussion, Remo, Bachovich Music, Meredith Music Publications, and Pulsa Musica Publications.
