You'll need to arrive in Paris, France no later than Thursday, July 31st, 2025. Once you've landed, we'll have transportation and lodging taken care of for you for the rest of the trip.

All members, performers and support staff are responsible for their own personal travel to and from Paris, France, arriving no later than Thursday, July 31st, 2025 and participating through August 9th, 2025. Once you arrive, your transportation, lodging and some food will be provided. 

The Bagad New York rehearsal and performance schedule is nicely packed between July 31st and August 9th. Outside of these dates, yes, you are most welcome to enjoy other parts of the world! 

Yes! We will have monthly rehearsals in person in upstate New York and possible Connecticut. Otherwise, we will make all materials available online including instructional material, live session recordings, etc.

Bagad New York has a stellar reputation for accepting anyone who comes in our doors and helping them become solid Bagad musicians. With that said, we are aiming for a very high Grade 4 to middle-of-the-pack Grade 3 Pipe Band competition standard for all instruments.

Since 2009, we have been consulted by some of the best Breton Bagad musicians from Bretagne. Currently, our instructors come from 10x Championnat National des Bagadou, Bagad Cap Caval. Our Penn-Soner (lead musician) is Alex Bartholomew, who shares co-director positions with Jake Otto, also the Penn-Batture (lead drummer). Rory  Cullen is our Pipe Major, while Michael Eagle (also from Cap Caval) spearheads all things drumming and percussion as well. 

All over Lorient, France as part of the Festival Interceltique! The exact performance schedule will be made available as we move closer to August. 

1. Demonstrate a Grade 3 performance level on your respective instrument

2. Commit to monthly in-person or remote rehearsals

3. Commit to learn 100% of our repertoire prior to the trip

4. Purchase your own travel arrangements to arrive in Paris, France no later than Thursday, July 31st, 2025 and staying through Saturday, August 9th, 2025.
